Banked ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("App"). Please read this policy carefully.

By using Banked, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly:

  • Account information (email address, name) when you create an account
  • Financial data you enter (expenses, income, budgets, categories, notes)
  • Receipt images you upload for scanning
  • Feedback and correspondence when you contact us

Information Collected Automatically:

  • Device information (device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers)
  • App usage analytics (features used, session duration, crash reports)
  • Advertising identifiers (for displaying relevant ads to free users)

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Banked app
  • Sync your data across your devices via Apple iCloud
  • Process your transactions and manage your subscription
  • Send you important notifications about your account or the app
  • Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries
  • Display advertisements to free users (via Google AdMob)
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve our services
  • Detect and prevent fraud or abuse

Data Storage and Security

Local Storage: Your financial data (expenses, income, budgets) is stored locally on your device using Apple's Core Data framework. This data remains on your device unless you enable iCloud sync.

iCloud Sync: When enabled, your data is synced via Apple's iCloud service using CloudKit. Apple handles the encryption and security of data in transit and at rest. We do not have direct access to your financial data stored in iCloud.

Authentication Data: Account credentials are securely managed through Firebase Authentication (for email/password) or through Apple/Google's authentication services (for Sign in with Apple/Google).

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect the data we do have access to, including encryption and secure server practices.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Apple Sign In: For secure authentication without passwords
  • Google Sign In: For secure authentication via Google accounts
  • Firebase Authentication: For email/password account management
  • Apple iCloud (CloudKit): For syncing data across your devices
  • RevenueCat: For managing in-app subscriptions
  • Google AdMob: For displaying advertisements to free users

Each of these services has their own privacy policies governing their collection and use of your data. We encourage you to review their policies.

Advertising

Free users may see advertisements powered by Google AdMob. These ads may be personalized based on your interests and device identifiers.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by:

  • Going to Settings → Privacy → Apple Advertising → turning off Personalized Ads
  • Upgrading to Banked Pro, which removes all advertisements

Premium subscribers do not see any advertisements.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • With service providers who assist in operating our app (under strict confidentiality agreements)
  • To comply with legal obligations or respond to lawful requests
  • To protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (you would be notified)

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal data
  • Correction: Correct any inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data
  • Export: Export your financial data to CSV format
  • Opt-out: Opt out of marketing communications and personalized advertising

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, accounting, or reporting purposes.

Children's Privacy

Banked is not intended for children under 13 years of age (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.

International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers in compliance with applicable data protection laws.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
